  • In 2021, The Young Foundation has placed a renewed focus on building a fairer future for young people, with schemes such as Kickstart, Amplify Youth and The Inclusive Economy BOOST programme.

The Young Foundation's programmes cover a range of themes including: place-based work, health and well-being, inequality and support for young people.

Our grant money will be used to support up to thirty young people, employed through the Kickstart Scheme, to be trained as peer researchers. It's a fantastic opportunity for a cohort of disadvantaged young people to gain access to employment, that seeks to build confidence, skills and agency not only in the world of work, but in the realm of social and civic action.

You can read one person's experience of the Kickstart Scheme through The Young Foundation here: Routes into Research? by Amelia Clayton.

“Getting the Peer Researcher role has definitely had a positive effect on my mood, sense of self-worth and feeling more purposeful. Beginning training has really solidified that. I’m really enjoying it and I’m excited about the future and what we will be doing.” A recently hired Peer Researcher, as part of the scheme
