The RHS, which aims to support young people’s health and wellbeing, and inspire a new generation of gardeners and horticultural scientists, is creating a new National Centre for Horticultural Science and Learning at Wisley. This will transform its learning facilities and internationally important scientific research, helping to find solutions for current social and environmental challenges affecting the planet.

Support from the Foundation will create two state-of-the-art learning studios within the new centre. The studios will be fully accessible, equipped with the latest technology and directly connected to a dedicated teaching garden designed and built to maximise teaching opportunities. These new studios will enable us to significantly increase our capacity to engage with young people, especially those children aged 11+.

Construction of the Centre began in March 2019, and is due to be completed in the autumn of 2020.
